SOGLIANO AL RUBICONE
HYSTORY
Archaeological finds witness considerable human settlements towards the end of the Bronze Age. Between 1000 and 1100 the area of
Sogliano al Rubicone was affected by the phenomenon of fortification. The Municipality includes a very large territory, mainly oriented to the south of the town, on the high
valleys of Rubicone and Uso and overlooking
Montefeltro, Pericara and S.Agata.
Renowned as the town of
Fosse (caves in which we bury the typical cheese), Sogliano has rock and earth (marbled clay stones) that, mixed and expertly modelled, give life to the
teglia, the typical slab used for cooking the legendary piadina.
